Allegan County United Way Recognizes Local Volunteers

In celebration of National Volunteer Week (April 23-29), Allegan County United Way honors the hundreds of volunteers who invest their time and talents in Allegan County. This year, United Way would like to offer a special thank you to the Employability Skills classroom at the Allegan County Area Technical Education Center (ACATEC).

United Way Director of Volunteer Engagement Susan Henderson shares, “Their (ACATEC) teacher, Beckie Gunderson, contacted me last fall about how her class could get more plugged into the community with opportunities for work-based learning. They have really stepped up to the plate with helping us at our offices, the Santa letters, tax sites, IRS Veteran’s Day and our Adopt-A-Highway program. Most of her classes have participated in one form or another. I really appreciate all of them and want to thank them for all they have done for us this year. I can’t wait to see where this partnership goes in the future!”
