From April 20-22, the 30th anniversary celebration of Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) will take place. GYSD is the largest service event in the world and the only one that celebrates the contributions that children and youth make 365 days of the year.
In Allegan County, students from the Allegan County Area Technical Education Center’s Employability Skills Class will volunteer with Allegan County United Way for their own Global Youth Service Day event. As part of the Adopt-a-Highway program, students and community volunteers will remove roadside litter on United Way’s adopted portion of M-222. The event will take place Friday, April 20 from 8:30am-1:00pm.
United Way is looking for a group of 5-6 adults from a local business or organization to help alongside the student group. Learn more and sign up at: bit.ly/ACUW_GYSD2018. If you have questions, please contact Susan Henderson at email@example.com or 269.673.6545 ext. 13 for more information.
This project is supported in part by a Michigan Community Service Commission grant awarded to the Allegan County United Way.
