On Saturday, January 26 from 1:00-4:00pm, Allegan County United Way will host Show Me the Money Day at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 631 Grand St. in Allegan. Show Me the Money Day is an interactive financial resource fair intended to help people reach their money goals.
This year’s event will feature: a free income tax workshop with trained volunteers, access to community and financial resources, cooking on a budget demo with free food, free haircuts, information on how to fix your credit, budgeting, prizes and more. Show Me the Money Day is a statewide event in Michigan coordinated by the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM). To kick off tax season, local Show Me the Money Day events will provide Michigan residents free financial resource fairs and financial workshops and access to community-based programs that promote saving and asset building, post-secondary education and training and other opportunities to build financial security at tax time.
