Local nonprofits collaborate to host 9th annual ‘Stuff the Bus’ food drive

The 9th annual Stuff the Bus Food Drive will take place at participating grocery stores beginning July 13. Food and personal care items collected in the drive will go directly to food pantries to help support the basic needs of local families. The food drive is a collaborative effort of Allegan County United Way, Allegan County Food Pantry Collaborative, local school districts and area grocery stores.

Food pantry donations typically decrease during the summer months, since children who receive school breakfasts and lunches through the National School Lunch Program depend on their families for all three meals. “Stuff the Bus” aims to help the food pantries keep their shelves stocked during these critical summer months.

Donations of food, cash, and personal care items can be made at any of the participating grocery stores. A school bus staffed with volunteers will accept donations at each site. Thank you for your support of our local food pantries.
